Spotlighting: An amazing Photographer, Poet, Writer, Director, A mastermind

WOW: this guy this pretty awesome, I would really like to be accomplished some of things he did. Who am I talking about? I am so glad you asked: No other then Gordon Parks
Gordon Parks was the first black photographer to photo essay for the Life mazagine. Not only did he do essay for Life, he was mastermind behind the movie shaft. Wow, this man is pretty awesome. I want my craft to speak for itself. Yes, I know there are alot of photographers in the world but we all are unique and bring something different to the table. Even though it died in March 2006, his works still remain on forever... I want to take the time and thank Gordon Parks for paving the way for photographers like myself.

Working Out

On June 26, 2009, I decided to change my life. Not for no one else but for me. I joined 24 hour fitness located on Ridgeway Rd. I also changed my eating habits with the help of my best friend Michaelyn Oby. She is a supporter along with other people thats cheering me on. I wanted to take the time to say thank you all for being there and still being in my corner as I make a change in my life. No its not easy do it but I love the result for doing it. I have lost couple of pounds and inches. I do not eat fried foods, sweets, or greasy foods. I work out twice a day now... Once at the gym and at home i do walk away the pounds, some pilates, and yoga. Well currently in my office, just bored so i decided to write a blog and share with my connections. You all have a good day. I watched out for my new collection For Solosophy Clothing Diry Daniels and Simply Sally... It will amaze you...

GOD BLESS

My Bday May 23

The Rumba Room on Salsa Night (Saturdays)
A picture of Frank at the Rumba Room

Michaelyn and I at the Rumba Room

A picture of me: Jake's Hot Fudge Pie West's

Thanks to Gina

A picture of me wearing my favorite color purple at westy's waiting on my pie. Make up by Michaelyn

My birthday started with me doing my hair... Thanks to my BFF who helped my finish it.
Then I went to one of my favorite restaurant in Memphis, Westy's, for their infamous Jake's hot fudge pie. Of course it was free for the birthday girl. After the delicious pie, I went to see Don't bother me I cant cope at Hattiloo. Big ups to EK the founder and Director. After the show, I tried to caught the free salsa lessons down at the Rumba Room. The atmosphere was nice there, very laid back club, i wish there was a live band. But, I enjoyed myself. Michaelyn, Tekay, and Frank and his friend, Sam showed me a good time there. We salsa dance there for little 3 mins because you had to be a pro to actually stay on the dance floor. To finish the night off, We hit the Dish for the free house party. The dj was awesome. His mixes was unbelieveable. I have attach pictures above of my Bday.

Respiration By Blackstar with Common

Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Common

what a combination... this song is sicking... I love this song...

Here are the lyrics

Sing along:

Respiration (1998)

The new moon rode high in the crown of the metropolisShinin, like who on top of this?People was tusslin, arguin and bustlinGangstaz of Gotham hardcore hustlinI'm wrestlin with words and ideasMy ears is picky, seekin what will transmitthe scribes can apply to transcript, yoThis ain't no time where the usual is suitableTonight alive, let's describe the inscrutableThe indisputable, we New York the narcoticStrength in metal and fiber opticswhere mercenaries is paid to trade hot stock tipsfor profits, thirsty criminals take pocketsHard knuckles on the second hands of workin class watchesSkyscrapers is collosus, the cost of livingis preposterous, stay alive, you play or die, no optionsNo Batman and Robin, can't tell betweenthe cops and the robbers, they both partners, they all heartlessWith no conscience, back streets stay darkenedWhere unbeliever hearts stay hardenedMy eagle talons STAY sharpened, like city lights stay throbbinYou either make a way or stay sobbin, the Shiny Appleis bruised but sweet and if you choose to eatYou could lose your teeth, many crews retreatNightly news repeat, who got shot down and locked downSpotlight to savages, NASDAQ averagesMy narrative, rose to explain this existanceAmidst the harbor lights which remain in the distanceSo much on my mind that I can't reclineBlastin holes in the night til she bled sunshineBreathe in, inhale vapors from bright stars that shineBreathe out, weed smoke retrace the skylineHeard the bass ride out like an ancient mating callI can't take it y'all, I can feel the city breathinChest heavin, against the flesh of the eveningSigh before we die like the last train leavingBreathin in deep city breaths, sittin on shitty stepswe stoop to new lows, hell froze the night the city sleptThe beast crept through concrete junglescommunicatin with one anotherAnd ghetto birds where waters fallfrom the hydrants to the guttersThe beast walk the beats, but the beats we be makinYou on the wrong side of the track, lookin visibly shakenTaken them plungers, plungin to death that's painted by the numberswith Krylon applied pressure, cats is playin Godbut havin children by a lesser baby mother but fuck itwe played against each other like puppets, swearin you got pullwhen the only pull you got is the wool over your eyesGettin knowledge in jail like a blessing in disguiseLook in the skies for God, what you see besides the smogis broken dreams flying away on the wings of the obsceneThoughts that people put in the airPlaces where you could get murdered over a glareBut everything is fairIt's a paradox we call realitySo keepin it real will make you casualty of abnormal normalityKillers Born Naturally like, Mickey and MalloryNot knowing the ways'll get you capped like an NBA salarySome cats be emceeing to illustrate what we be seeingHard to be a spiritual being when shit is shakin what you believe inFor trees to grow in Brooklyn, seeds need to be plantedI'm asking if y'all feel me AND THE CROWD LEFT ME STRANDEDMy blood pressure boiled and rose, cause New York niggazactin spoiled at shows, to the winners the spoils goI take the L, transfer to the 2, head to the gatesNew York life emotions, struggle I hadn't masteredI coreograph seven steps to heavenAnd hell, waiting to exhale and make the bread leavenedVeteran of a cold war It's Chica-I-go forWhat I know or, what's knownSo some days I take the bus home, just to touch homeFrom the crib I spend months goneSat by the window with a clutched dome listenin to shorties cuss longYoung girls with weak minds, but they butt strongTried to call, or at least beep the Lord, but didn't have a touch-toneIt's a dog-eat-dog world, you gotta mush onSome of this land I must ownOutta the city, they want us goneTearin down the Artist: Charles Hamilton

Song: Brooklyn Girls

You have to check out this guy mix tapes... Hes so awesome with his words and music choice... Its a mixture of hip hop and rock

Most of his music is sample-driven. Though he catches quite a bit of heat for his sampling, he insists it is for the good of music: "When I sample, I'm not just doing it to sound good. I'm trying to tell a story. To convey an emotion. If I sampled it, there is a reason I sampled it. I believe that music is based on moments, and that there are some moments that people may have missed back in the day. They may have even missed it a year ago. When I sample, I'm giving the artist their respect, while simultaneously creating something new." His influences read like a Lollapalooza bill.

Lush- a wonderful smell

Yesterday, March 28, 2009, I went to the mall (Oak Court) to learn about makeup from the top of the lines makeup artists. It was a great experience. I actually never went before. Thanks to my best friend's mom. We had breakfast that was good. My most favorite presentation was fashion fair (the lips). I learned a lot maybe I will get in to makeup one day. I feel like being natural is wonderful even tho my mother don't want my hair to be. I strongly disagree with her. You have to love Mom. Anyway, the event was marvelous well organized it could have been better if i won a big prize. After, the event my best friend, her sister La rue and I walked around Macy's for awhile and we went pass the vendor lush. It had a wonderful smell of all natural, handmade soaps, face masks, lotions, and skin cares. My first impression of this vendor was a ice cream or a slush vendor inside of Macy's Wow...

Lush originated in UK... Lush uses fresh ingredients, don't test animals (thank god save our planet and animals), they are ECO- friendly, everything is made by hand (uh?), and most of all they support their community.

I have sex peel soap the ingredients are:
Black = Safe Synthetic Green = Natural and/or Organic
Sodium Palm Kernelate, Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Cornstarch (Zea mays), Lemon Peel (Citrus limonum), Orange Peel (Citrus dulcis), Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Fresh Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum), Fresh Orange Juice (Citrus dulcis), Lime Peel (Citrus aurantifolia), Lime Oil (Citrus aurantifolia), Perfume, Perfume, Grapefruit Oil (Citrus grandis), Fresh Lime Juice (Citrus aurantifolia), Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum), Sodium Chloride, Glycerine, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, *Citral, *Geraniol, *Citronellol, *Limonene, *Linalool,. *Naturally occurs in essential oils.
Wow... I have posted a picture of it... So when you are in the Oak Court Mall again go check out Lush... the smell will draw you near... also check out the website www.lush.com

"Man on the Moon" Kid Cudi

Song Entitled: Day and Nite

Artist Kid Cudi

This song is awesome... The video is amazing... The reborn of hip hop. Who said hip hop was dead... Are you kidding me? Of course, he isn't a Nas, Lupe the Jedi, Kurtis Blow and definitely not a Q-tip. He brings dreams. One of his motto is to Dream on... I love it... He consider himself as a MC...Microphone Controller for people who dont know what MC abbreviation.

I always knew I was different," says 23 year-old MC and songwriter Kid Cudi. "I just embraced it instead of wondering what people would think." ... For the past three years, this Cleveland, Ohio native (born Scott Mescudi) has been holed up in a Brooklyn studio turning his worldview into a musical signature, mixing clever, melodic flows with indelible hooks that owe as much to alternative rock records as hip-hop classics.

Hes the "Man on the Moon"

Go cope his album when it come out and download his mixtape NOW

You can download day and nite from this link here: http://rcrdlbl.com/artists/Kid_Cudi/track/Day_N_Nite_Crookers_Remix

Voice of a goddess

Song Entitled- What is Love?

This songbird name is Michaelyn Oby. World watch out for her... She brings something new to the music industry. She is small with a BIG voice...

Michaelyn Phaith Oby was born to accomplished musicians Michael and Joyce Oby on September 5, 1985 in Milwaukee, WI. Born the last of three daughters, Michaelyn stood out from her sisters at a young age. Always seizing the opportunity to soak up the spotlight, whether it was in their church ensemble, dance team, or just mere entertainment around the house. At age nine, she began to sing professionally, some of her credits including The Black Family Reunion, Combined Federal Charities and United Way, and The National Aviation Convention held in Chicago (all in the year 1995).
Michaelyn could be seen with her father-in-tow, who had by this time assumed the role as her manger and mentor, at all her engagements while the invitations steadily rolled in. Not abandoning her first love of singing, Michaelyn also ventured into the world of Community Theater. Upon joining the Young Actors Guild under the direction of playwright Chris Chandler, she performed in such musical productions as Sisters Born to Sing, We’re Off to Hear the King, Soul Revue on Broadway, and Before It Hits Home.
In 2002 at 17, Michaelyn graduated from Overton High School of the Performing Arts one year early. Currently, she is a sophomore at LeMoyne-Owen College, majoring in Humanities and concentrating in music and English. She is a charter member of Debut Kashmir Modeling Society, editor over the student newspaper, The Magician, English tutor with T.R.I.O. Student Support Services, and reigning class queen for the 2004-2005 term as Ms. Sophomore class representative. Her academic honors include: Memphis Links; Edscholar Scholarship recipient; Freshmen Class Scholar and Highest GPA award recipient for 2003; Dean’s List; and Commercial Appeal “Freshmen Diaries” Monthly Columnist for 2003-2004. She continues to pursue her professional career as an entertainer and steadily performs with her jazz trio along with her father, Michael Oby, saxophonist and professional sideman, and her mother, Joyce Oby, in numerous venues around Memphis. After obtaining her degree from LeMoyne-Owen College, Michaelyn Oby plans to take New York and the east coast by storm and pursue a career in musical theatre.

Above all, Michaelyn recognizes that her gifts are from Almighty God and gives honor to Him from whom all her blessings flow. He whom has allowed her to stand before you now still growing yet well groomed into the young lady she is. Michaelyn Oby would like to thank those at Kemet Jubilee as well as Carnival Memphis for their invitation of extended kinship and she looks forward in her reign as Miss Kemet Spirit 2005. She encourages all those whom she comes in contact with that fulfilling one’s passion can be obtained through persistence and forming an one on one connection with God’s purpose for your life.

I am proud to say she is a wonderful best friend... Keep the crowd jumping... So you all check her out on youtube. Matter of fact just google her name Michaelyn Oby...

Renaissance of hip hop

This cat name is Drake. You probably have heard him spits rhymes on lil wayne song "brand new". Some people called him the new nas. I just called him the reborn of new hip hop.

Drake real name is Aubrey Drake Graham. He is an Candian actor, rapper and somewhat of a singer. I won't call him one tho.

Since 2001, he has played one of the leading roles (Jimmy) on Degrassi

I hope you enjoy this song entitled The Calm. One of many songs on his mixtape" So far gone." This song hit home.
